HOW MUCH WATER TO DRINK
How much water should you drink each day? It is easy question with difficult answer. All need water, as they are exclusive. How much water you require depends on many factors such as your health status, living atmosphere how active you are. There is no single rule to estimate that, many rules are accessible to help you estimate how much to drink each day. Examine your daily water needs to learn how your body uses water and what factors may increase or decrease your water necessities.
Health advantages of water
Water is essential to your health. It makes approximately 60 percent of your body weight. Every system in your body based on water. Deficiency of water in your body can lead to dehydration; it is a condition when you don’t have enough water in your body to run normal functions. Even little dehydration loss your body weight around 1% to 2% and it can weaken your energy and make you tired. Symptoms of dehydration are:
• Excessive thirst
• Dry mouth
• Little or no urination
• Muscle weakness
Every day you lose water through sweating exhaling, urinating and bowel movements. Body need to replace this water by consuming beverages and foods that contain water to function properly. It is not an easy question to answer. A healthy adult’s daily water intake can differently. Most people drink beverages to quench thirst, to supply perceived water needs and “out of habit.” There are at least three approaches to estimate total water needs for healthy, sedentary adults living in a temperate climate.
The average urine output for adults is 1.5 liters a day and you lose around one liter of water in a day through breathing, sweating and bowel movements. Food usually use 20 percent of your fluid intake, so if you consume 2 liters of water or other beverages along with your normal diet in a day, you can replace the lost fluids. Another approach is, drink eight ounce glasses of water a day (it is about 1.9 liters).
The rule could also be stated, “drink eight ounce glasses of fluid daily,” as all fluids count toward the daily total. This approach isn’t supported by scientific evidence. Many people use basic rule as a guideline for how much water and other beverages to drink. The Medical institution recommends that men need 3 liters (approximately 13 cups) of total beverages a day and women need 2.2 liters (approximately 9 cups) of total beverages a day. These guidelines are based on national food surveys that assessed people’s average fluid intakes.
You can choose any of these beverages intake approaches to estimate your water needs. If you drink enough water to quench your thirst then your current total fluid intake is good. It also produces a colorless or slightly yellow normal amount of urine.
