The British born singer musician, Adnan Sami has a beautiful fairy tale story that transforms him from a 206 kilos Hercules to a handsome 86 Kilos prince in a span of 11 months!!! This proud owner of a fit body proudly claims that if he can do it, anyone in the world can.

But this amazing singer and the fastest keyboard player in the world was having a great time and enjoying all the fame at 206 kilos. So what triggered this singer to lose weight?

Well, this dedicated singer’s life came to a halt when he had been told by doctors that he would not live for over 6 months if he continued weigh 130 kilos. There was also a time when it became difficult for him to walk even 5 steps without taking rest. There were many other problems he faced such as requirement for extra belt extensions in plane and a specially designed wheel chair while travelling. Sami couldn’t lie down without the aid of pillows. He also required an external help to get out of his bed. Daily routine activities such as leg stretching, standing straight became a burden!
Adnan Sami developed lymphedema in his knees in the year 2005. He underwent a surgery that left him bedridden for 3 months at stretch. Now this was the most difficult period of his life. Whenever he lied down with extra weight, the extra fat pushed against his lungs. This caused sleep apnoea. And yes, this amazing singer needed about two measuring tapes to get his clothes stitched! The 6x sized clothes he wore were always ordered in bulk.

Adnan Sami’s Battle with DEATH!

The turning point came when Sami’s doctors informed him that at 206 Kilos, he could not survive for more than 6 months! Somewhere, internally this talented singer also felt that his body was unable to bear his weight. He realized that he may give up any day.

Then decided to quit work for 6 months and moved to Houston. This was the place where he started his journey to achieve a fit body and a handsome appearance. On June 6, 2006, he had his heart’s fill –

• A huge cheese cake

• A potter house steak topped with lots of butter

• Mashed potatoes

After this sinful indulgence, Sami decided to go on a diet, regular exercise and work outs.

Adnan Sami Workout Routine

Initially, it was tough for him to exercise (of course, the 206 kilos were hard on him). So he opted for a well made diet plan and lost 40 kilos of weight. This was definitely a morale booster for this singer. This was when the singer planned to start on with a regular workout routine. He opted for a treadmill and did moderate amount of walking.

 

[calc id=1966]The results were fantastic. The singer noticed little changes such as he could lie down comfortably, sleep longer, and most importantly, the sleep apnoea started to disappear slowly. Adnan could stand longer now.

The trainer Prashant Sawant in Mumbai helped him in his work out routine. According to Prashant, Adnan felt exhausted after walks, but was regular with the workouts. Whenever in town, Sami trained diligently for about an hour. He did weights and a combination of weights and cardio exercises.

The nutritionist back in Houston realized that Adnan Sami was a ‘hard core emotional eater’. He always linked food to his emotions. He ate when he was sad and he ate when he was happy! This was the major contribution towards his massive weight gain.

Adnan Sami’s dedication helped him lose weight at a rate of 23.4 pounds per month. This is definitely too high and a risky figure but well appreciated as Adnan Sami weighed more than 2 tones!!!

      Well, losing weight (some weight) in 45 days is possible. However, if you are targeting about 10kg in 45 days, it is next to impossible. The process is also not healthy. The idea is to try and lose weight through natural ways. Here’s how to go about it:
      1. Wake up in the morning and have at least 2 glasses of lemon water with honey. You may even have some plain lukewarm water.
      2. You can go for nice heavy breakfast comprising of fruits. Choose the ones high in fibre. Avoid bananas or chickoos. These fruits increase body weight.
      3. For lunch, have dal , roti and a bowl of vegetable. Make sure the lunch is devoid of ghee, butter, and fried stuff.
      4. Try having dinner as early as u can. Also make it the lightest meal of the day. You can have soup, salad, steamed vegetable etc. for dinner.
      Losing weight naturally is the best alternative and will keep you healthy in the long run. So make sure you are not in a hurry to lose a lot of weight.       You must target maximum 1kg per week. This is really easy. Avoid eating sugary fruit, meat and any fat food. Focus on eating only vegetables, salad and chappatis. Walking each day wil make you lose 50gms per 1km. Also buy a weighing scale and monitor your weight in every morning. Some of the vegetable you should avoid include potato, and beans. You should also avoid having daal at night.
      Fruit comprise of large amounts of carbohydrate. So if you consume a lot of carbohydrate, it is not possible to lose weight. Once you stop eating enough carbohydrate, the body will take energy from fat that was saved inside your body. This makes you lose fat. You should also eat fibre rich food.

      Remember that losing more than 1kg per week can be harmful for your body.

      Well, losing weight is a tough task. Here’s a method that may work for you. In the morning, start your day with a breakfast comprising of white oats. At 11.00 a.m. take 1 apple or little bit vegetable (of your choice) or salad. Eat a lot of cabbage.
      Early morning have 1 teaspoon pure honey in hot water on empty stomach. Do this regularly and watch your abs go flat. Your lunch should comprise of little bit rice with lot of vegetables.       Hey guys, I’m sharing my personal experience here. I have used capsules “Shape-Up” after meals every day. This has worked for me. It prevents absorption of food that you have taken.       The most successful dieters, regardless of whether their goal is muscle gain or fat loss, eat the same few meals over and over again. You can mix and match, construct each meal with one from each of the three following groups:
      Proteins:
      Chicken breast or thigh
      Pork
      Egg whites with one whole egg for flavor
      Grass-fed organic beef
      Legumes:
      Lentils
      Pinto beans
      Black beans
      Vegetables:
      Mixed vegetables
      Peas
      Spinach
      Asparagus
      You can eat as much as you like from the above listed food items. You need to keep it simple. Pick about three or four meals and repeat them. All restaurants can give you a salad or vegetables in place of French fries or potatoes. Surprisingly, Mexican food is the best option. Here, you can swap out rice for vegetables. This is a cuisine most conducive to the “slow carb” diet.
      Those who go on “low” carbohydrate diets usually complain of low energy and quit. This is not because such diets can’t work, but owing to the fact that they consume insufficient calories. A 1/2 cup of rice is 300 calories. On the other hand, a 1/2 cup of spinach is 15 calories! Vegetables are not calorically dense. Hence, it is critical that you add legumes for caloric load.
      Some athletes eat 6-8 x per day to break up caloric load and avoid fat gain. This is quite inconvenient. So I have maintained 4x per day:
      10 am – Breakfast
      1 pm – Lunch
      5 pm – Smaller second lunch
      7:30-9 pm – Sports training
      10 pm – Dinner
      12 am – A glass of wine
      Rule 3: Avoid drinking calories
      You can drink water and as much unsweetened iced tea, tea, diet sodas, coffee (without white cream). You may even go for other no-calorie/low-calorie beverages as you like. Do not drink milk, normal soft drinks, or fruit juice. A glass of wine each evening aids sports recovery and fat-loss. Recent research into resveratrol supports this.
      Rule 4: Take one day off per week
      It is important to have your wild days. This means you are allowed to eat whatever you want on Saturdays. Interestingly, this spiking caloric intake once per week increases fat loss by ensuring that your metabolic rate. Eating pure crap can help you lose fat.
